You are the manager of a youth football team. You develop your players and aim to win the competitions. You choose where to start: a high school team in Japan or Korea, or the academy of a professional club in England, Spain or Germany. This is a paid app. There is no limit on how many years you can manage. There are no ads. ■ Where you start - Japan: a high school team. You climb from the prefectural league to the regional leagues and play the summer tournament and the winter championship. - Korea: a high school team. You play the weekend league in two halves, the champions' tournament, the national sports festival and the summer nationals. - England: a professional club's academy. You play an U18 league by category, the national youth cup and the U18 elite cup. - Spain: a professional club's academy. You play a regional youth league, the champions' play-off and the national youth cup. - Germany: a professional club's academy. You play an U19 league, the national finals and the U19 national cup. Each country has its own calendar, competitions, names and scenery. An academy runs on its parent club's budget, and the best players sign professional contracts with the first team. Players from other countries are on the books too. ■ Training Each week you choose a session — technique, physical, tactics, set pieces, a practice match or rest — and that decides which attributes improve. Tired players get injured more easily; rested ones improve more slowly. ■ How players develop Every player has his own growth curve and ceiling. One-to-one coaching brings on a group of attributes or a single one. Players pick up special abilities, and some get a unique ability and a nickname that stays in the records. ■ Matches Eleven players move by themselves, guided by your tactics and selection. Watch from three cameras or skip to the result. Every match records goals, assists, saves and a mark out of ten. Goal replays can be exported as video and shared. ■ Tactics You set the shape, each player's role and duty, how high the defensive line sits, how hard the team presses, and the tempo in attack. You can save up to five tactics as presets. ■ National teams There are U-17, U-20, U-23 and senior tournaments. When your players or former players are called up, their caps and goals are recorded at each age group. Players of other nationalities who play for their own country are recorded too. ■ World tournament and awards Win every major domestic competition in one season and you are invited to the Academy World Cup, where club academies from around the world meet. Each year the top ten for the world player of the year and the youth player of the year are announced. ■ After they leave Former players go on to university, the domestic professional leagues or leagues abroad. The alumni list follows their careers through to retirement. The records screen picks an all-time best eleven from former and current players. ■ Running the club You manage the funds, morale, facilities, staff, scouting, training camps and prize money. Fans grow with wins and cup runs, and show up in the crowd and the support at the stadium. ■ Rankings You can compare your records with other players online, in categories such as national titles, world titles, market value and fans. ■ Languages and currency Available in English, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish and French. Money can be shown in yen, won, pounds, euros or dollars. ■ Saves There are three save slots, so you can run teams in different countries at the same time. Saves back up to iCloud and carry over to a new device. ■ Price This is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. The only in-app purchase is the custom player (one per in-game year, with a name, a look and a position you choose). All schools, clubs, players and competitions are fictional.
