// WHO IT FITS

Match the tool to the job, not the job to the tool

Choose AppBird AI if

  • You need Google Play as well as the App Store. AppBird covers both and says 195 countries.
  • You want to follow what changed in the market: a feed of new and updated apps, a daily Radar digest, and an ownership transfers feed.
  • You want teardown reports. Lab X-Ray and Game DNA are listed on its pricing page, with monthly report caps by plan.
  • You want a larger ad creative feed. AppBird says it holds 300,000+ creatives, though it marks daily creative views as BETA.
  • You need an API or MCP server. Both exist as a paid add-on for Elite and Team. It also lists a Publisher Hub for studios.

Choose AppHitlist if

  • Your apps are on iOS and you want revenue estimates, download estimates, rank history and Meta ads on one app page.
  • You want to read why users leave: 1- and 2-star App Store reviews grouped into complaint themes. AppBird's reviews are described as recent reviews and rating history.
  • You want keyword popularity, difficulty and the rank of your own app in App Store search. AppBird is not described as a keyword product.
  • You want one paid plan with everything in it, not three tiers. AppHitlist has no Pro, Elite or Team split.
  • You want a free account to look around first, with app profile, rating, price and rank history.

The parts a table cannot show

01

Price: what AppBird's own pages say

AppBird's price display is not consistent, so we do not pick a number. The pricing page we fetched on 9 October 2026 shows Pro as both $199 and $299 per month and Elite as both $399 and $699 per month, each labeled 'Billed every month', with no note on which figure is charged. Its llms.txt lists Pro at $199 and Elite at $399. Two blog posts still say plans from $99/month and name a Scout plan, which the pricing page does not show.

Check the live pricing page before you decide. The same goes for the trial: its llms.txt and the page's meta description mention a 3-day free trial, while the pricing cards do not. AppHitlist is one paid plan, monthly or yearly, with a free account to look around first.

02

Usage caps matter as much as the price

AppBird limits usage by plan. According to its pricing page Pro allows 20 searches and 100 app-detail views a day, Elite 50 and 300, and Team unlimited searches with 600 app-detail views. Saved searches, bookmarks, X-Ray reports and idea generations have caps too. If you research many apps in one sitting, read these limits first.

AppHitlist has limits as well (competitor tracking per app, for example), and a free account is limited. The difference is the shape: AppHitlist has one paid plan, so you do not choose a tier by how many apps you look at.

03

Choosing by job

AppBird is built for watching the market move: what shipped, what changed hands, which teardown explains a hit. AppHitlist is built for a narrower question on iOS: which apps make money, what their users complain about, and where your own app ranks.

AppBird's own comparison post sends readers who want ASO keyword work to AppTweak or MobileAction. If you use AppBird for Android and market feeds, AppHitlist can sit next to it for iOS complaint themes and daily chart climbers.

// FAQ

Questions people ask before they start

How much does AppBird cost?

It depends which part of its site you read, and we do not pick one. In October 2026 its pricing page shows Pro as $199 and $299 per month and Elite as $399 and $699 per month, Team is custom, and its llms.txt lists $199 and $399. Some blog posts say from $99/month. Check the live pricing page before you buy.

Does AppBird have a free trial?

Its llms.txt says Scout starts with a full-access 3-day free trial, and the pricing page meta description mentions a 3-day free trial for self-serve plans. The pricing cards we fetched on 9 October 2026 mention neither a trial nor a Scout plan. Its terms say one trial per user or organization. Confirm on the live page.

What is an AppBird alternative for iOS-only research?

AppHitlist covers the Apple App Store only, which suits a developer who builds for iOS. It gives revenue and download estimates from its own algorithm over Apple's public chart lists, Meta ads sorted by days live, complaint themes from 1- and 2-star reviews, and rank tracking for your own apps. It has no Google Play data.

Does AppBird have an API?

Per its pricing page, a REST API is a paid add-on for Elite and Team plans, with custom pricing, 10,000 requests per month and 60 requests per minute. An MCP server is also documented, using the same API keys. We could not read its API and MCP docs pages, so details come from the pricing page and llms.txt. AppHitlist has no API at this time.
